Trained pest control technicians can make the difference between a treatment that solves the problem and random spraying that allows it to return weeks later. The same pesticide can produce different results depending on who applies it and where it is applied. That is why every technician at skystar Environmental Services completes a training program before working independently in a home or facility. This page explains what our technicians learn and why.

Initial Training

Every new technician begins with a number of hours training program that combines theoretical instruction with supervised fieldwork. A technician is not assigned to an independent service visit until completing the requirement for progressing to independent work.

Safety and Personal Protective Equipment

Technicians learn when to use each piece of personal protective equipment and how to check that it is suitable for use:

Chemical-resistant gloves and safety goggles.

Masks and respirators appropriate for the type of treatment.

Protective clothing and how to remove it without contaminating the hands.

First aid procedures in case a pesticide comes into contact with the skin or eyes.

Technicians are also trained to prepare the site before treatment, including removing food, covering fish tanks, and moving beds away before evacuation.

Pesticide Handling: Storage, Transportation, and Mixing

Reading the pesticide label and following the stated dosage without increasing it to “ensure better results.”

Storing pesticides in closed containers away from heat, with non-flammable materials kept away from heat inside vehicles.

Transporting pesticides in a designated area of the vehicle, separate from the passenger compartment.

Handling spills and safely disposing of empty containers.

We use pesticides that are registered and approved for public health use. Details are available on the Pesticide Labels page (/ar/product-labels/).

Pest Identification

Treatment does not begin before diagnosis. Technicians are trained to distinguish between German and American cockroaches, as well as between termites and common ants, and to identify signs such as droppings, shed skins, and gnaw marks. This determines the type of treatment and where it should be applied. You can view images of these pest types in the Pest Library (/ar/pest-library/cockroaches/).

Customer Service

Technicians are trained to explain to customers what they will do before starting, provide clear post-treatment instructions, and answer questions without making promises they cannot guarantee. They are also trained to respect the privacy of homes and maintain professional conduct in commercial facilities.

Ongoing Training

Products change and new challenges arise, so training continues after employment through number of annual sessions or training hours, reviews of difficult cases with the supervisor, and updates on regulations and licensed products whenever new updates are issued.

Certifications

After completing the program, the technician receives name of the certificate from the issuing authority.
