When Do You Need a Pest Control Company?

Some problems can be handled yourself, such as a stray cockroach or ants around a sweet. These situations, however, warrant a call to a specialist:

  • Repeated sightings: You see the same insect every week despite using household sprays.
  • Daytime activity: Cockroaches and rodents are active at night, so daytime sightings often indicate larger numbers.
  • Hidden signs: Small droppings, gnawed bags or wires, mud tubes on walls, or bites noticed in the morning.
  • Wood damage: Doors or frames that sound hollow when tapped.
  • Facilities subject to inspection: A restaurant, hotel, or food warehouse needing documented pest control records.
  • Before moving in: A new apartment or rented home may benefit from a Move-In Inspection.

Why Pests Are Common in the Hejaz Cities

  • Long summers: High temperatures speed up insect life cycles, increasing reproduction from spring through autumn.
  • Jeddah's winter rains: Standing water and seepage into basements drive mosquitoes, cockroaches, and rodents into buildings.
  • Hajj and Umrah seasons: High occupancy in hotels, shared accommodation, and catering kitchens increases pest pressure.
  • Building conditions: Older drainage networks in central neighborhoods, cracks in facades, and ground-level storage rooms.
  • Coastal humidity: Humidity in Jeddah and Yanbu favors termites and silverfish.

The Harm Pests Can Cause

  • Health: Cockroaches are associated with the spread of bacteria such as Salmonella, allergens, and asthma triggers. Rodents are associated with diseases such as leptospirosis and salmonellosis.
  • Property: Termites damage wood, while rodents gnaw wiring and may cause faults and fires.
  • Business: An inspection violation or negative guest review may cost a facility more than an entire pest control program.
  • Wellbeing: Bed bugs are not known to transmit diseases, but can cause itching, anxiety, and disrupted sleep.

Integrated Pest Management Explained Simply

Integrated Pest Management means we do not rely on spraying alone. We combine methods and limit pesticide use to the amount needed in the right places.

Prevention: Removing What Attracts Pests

Pests seek three things: food, water, and shelter. We identify their sources on your premises, such as a leak beneath the sink, an open waste bin, or stacked cardboard in storage. We then provide practical written recommendations to remove them.

Mechanical Control: Barriers and Traps

We seal gaps around pipes and beneath doors, install ventilation screens, and place glue traps or monitoring stations. These measures prevent entry and reveal activity early.

Chemical Control: Targeted Application

We use pesticides registered and approved for public health use, selecting formulations for each pest: gel bait in cockroach cracks, residual insecticides at entry points, insect growth regulators (IGR) to disrupt reproduction, and rodent bait inside closed stations.

Biological Approaches: Targeting the Pest

In some cases, we use methods that affect the target pest with less impact on other organisms, such as growth regulators and mosquito larval treatments in standing water. We identify available biological products during the inspection according to the situation.

Before and After the Service

Before the service: Cover food and kitchen utensils or store them in closed cabinets. Move furniture slightly away from walls. Remove pets and aquariums or cover them.

After the service: Stay away for 3–4 hours for adults and 6 hours for infants, pregnant women, older adults, people with respiratory conditions, and pets. Ventilate on your return and do not wipe treated areas for 24 hours. See the instructions before and after pest control.

Guarantee

If the treated pest returns within 30 days of the last visit, we return and treat it at no charge, provided the written instructions and recommendations have been followed. See the Guarantee page for terms.

Practical Prevention Tips

  • Repair water leaks promptly; water matters more than food for most insects.
  • Keep the waste bin closed and empty it daily in summer.
  • Store rice, flour, and dates in airtight containers.
  • Fit pest barriers beneath external doors and mesh covers over drains.
  • Remove old cardboard boxes, which provide excellent shelter for cockroaches.

When are these measures insufficient? If pests remain after two weeks, the source is often inside walls, drains, or neighboring premises and requires a specialist inspection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are pesticides safe for children?

We use pesticides registered and approved for public health use, applying them in cracks and hiding places. Safety depends on observing the time away from the premises and ventilating afterward. We extend the waiting time for infants and pregnant women.

Q: How many visits do I need?

It depends on the pest. Cockroaches often require one visit with follow-up, bed bugs at least two, and facilities scheduled visits.

Q: Is one spray treatment enough for all insects?

No. Each pest requires different products and methods. Gel suits cockroaches, baits suit rodents, and perimeter spraying suits crawling insects entering from outside.

Q: Do I need to leave home if only gel is used?

Gel alone usually does not require a long absence. The technician determines this during the visit based on the products used.

Q: Do you offer facility contracts?

Yes, with monthly or quarterly contracts, records and reports in the Client Portal, and additional follow-up during Hajj and Umrah seasons.

Q: How soon can the team arrive?

We agree on the appointment when you call, often the same day or the next, depending on your city and appointment demand.
